Let’s explore our five senses during this March Holidays! We will be learning about shapes, colours and different textures through songs, stories, craft work and simple dramatization! Each day along with a story, we will focus on one sense and relate it to the corresponding body part, with hands-on, interactive activities that will help our little ones understand the concept!

15-19 Mar 2021: Simple Machines - 4-6 years old, 8.30am - 12pm

A machine is anything that helps make work easier. Basic tools like staplers, screwdrivers and scissors are simple machines. These machines are all based on simple inventions like screw, wedge, levers, inclined planes, pulleys or wheels and axles. In fact, early man invented the first machines such as rock axes, windmills and water movers over 2 million years ago.
By understanding how the same physical principles used by engineers today to build skyscrapers were employed in ancient times to build pyramids, our young thinkers will get to explore and connect the relationship between simple machines and work and demonstrate the knowledge of the usefulness of simple machines. Perhaps, our young thinkers could be the potential “inventors of tomorrow” through these simple machine challenges! Key activities include:
